Chundeungsan is a popular sport/mixed climb area that has a short approach with some stellar moderate vertical routes. It is a 6-7 minute drive away from Daedunsan Provincial Park. I'm not sure what the rock type is, but it is friction-y, solid, and a whole lot of fun. Non-climbers will have a lot of fun here too as there is a riverbed/water hole with plenty of camping space and a great view of all the climbers making their way up the cliffs. A lot of the popular routes converge and have the same rappel point, so make sure you get there early to avoid crowds on weekends.

A 60m rope with 12 draws will suffice for a majority of the routes. Some routes on Sky wall will require a standard rack of cams or you will run it out quite a bit.

Getting There

Type in 완주군 운주면 산북리 산 48-1 to your Naver or Kakao maps and it will get you to a pull out parking lot.

Cross the river using a big boulder and a shady wooden plank on a steel frame. If the water level is high, you will need to wade a bit. You will then see climber trails leading to various routes, and boulders that indicate which routes are where. Do yourself a favor and familiarize the route name in Korean so you can find it painted on a rock. In general, the most popular routes (020벽이벽, 세월이가면) is to the left, right before the rickety staircase (there is a half hidden climbers trail right before it, look carefully), and Sky Wall is to the right.
