Description
Yellow Snake Hotel And Saloon is located on the northern slope of Sunset Peak ridge and just a few minutes uphill from HWY 49. Park one parking pullout east of The Bird Trap or one parking pullout west of Western Bacon Steezburger parking where you can see Pear And Apple and Crab Eyes simultaneously.
There are numerous highball lines to be done and a handful of harder trad climbs as well. Catches shade in the afternoons so it’s a nice hideout from the heat. A hidden chimney room sits behind this main wall.
130 years ago Beer City was a famous little tent town known for wild times in NW Oklahoma. Pussycat Nell owned the Yellow Snake Hotel And Saloon. m.okgazette.com/oklahoma/be…
Getting There
Park and head back east on the road for 100-200 yds. Head south uphill through elk trails and continue flanking the slope south eastward until you come upon nice boulders and a corner crag with a big sideways V in the east facing wall. This is Yellowsnake Hotel And Saloon. The best path is much easier to see heading downhill where the elk trails are visible from above.
