Description

This is a large set of Groom Creek style boulders near the Hassayampa River in a beautiful section of the Bradshaw Mountains.

Getting There

Take Senator Hwy past the Wolf Creek Road intersection and turn right onto Mt. Tritle Road (FR 79). After crossing the Hassayampa River at a low concrete bridge, take an immediate right turn onto a rougher dirt road , FR 79B, that soon crosses back over the river (high clearance is recommended). In less than a mile you will come to an intersection where FR 79B ends at FR 74. You can park at the large pullout here and walk the final 800 feet up FR 74 to the rocks - don’t go left back over the river. It’s also possible to drive a bit farther up FR 74 and park in a riverside campsite on the left or at narrow places along the road. Another option, if your vehicle is up to it, is to grind up the final rocky steps to the boulders. You can also hike down from the road that starts at the back of the Lower Wolf Creek CG.
