June 1st, 2017:The Salt Lake Climbers Alliance (SLCA), the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), and Access Fund announce the signing of an unprecedented lease for 140 acres in Little Cottonwood Canyon (LCC). The parcel, known as the Gate Buttress, is about one mile up LCC canyon and has been popular with generations of climbers because of its world-class granite.
The agreement secures legitimate access to approximately 588 routes and 138 boulder problems at the Gate Buttress for rock climbers, who will be active stewards of the property. The recreational lease is the result of several years of negotiations between LDS Church leaders and the local climbing community.
Access Note: The climbs on the Church Buttress above the vault as well as the Glen boulders that have been traditionally closed will remain closed.
Please help us steward this area and leave no trace.

Getting There
Most of the boulders are a few hundred yards E of Hidden Forest, or about 50 yds W of the foot bridge if you're coming from the E. There are some tall boulders right next to the main trail on the N side, and another group 30 yds further E and up the hill on the S side of trail.
the Actual “Junkie Boulder” is just E of Hidden Forest, a little ways E of the trail that goes up to a talus field. The boulder is near the E end of the Talus, slightly into the woods to the N of the talus, bush whacking may be involved.
The best place to park is by the gate straight up hill from the foot bridge that is E of the Junkies, just don't block the entrance. On your way up the canyon, if you watch the right side of the road carefully, as the road curves left, you'll see a pull out with the dirt road and gate maybe 100-200 yds before seeing the Campus boulder on your left.
