Access Issue: Area closure in effect. Details

This area and a good portion of 2N10 are closed due to the recent Radford Fire; check with the Forest Service for any updates regarding the closure - (909) 382 - 2790.

No entry, even on foot, is allowed into the closed area with hefty fines and possible jail time for any scofflaws - stay out!

Description

The Buckthorn Boulder features knobs like the Skyline Boulder but is fairly dirty with lichen and the entire south side of the boulder, while cleaner, rises above a dense patch of buckthorn.

A dozen or so problems V0 and under have been done here with problems on the west, east and south faces.

Getting There

Located 60 meters northeast of the Skyline Boulder - walk/scramble uphill from there and then cross a huge downed log to reach the base of the boulder or access directly from the parking area via the dirt road and a trail.

Both of the approaches take about a minute from the parking area.
