Description
This is the main sector above the lower slabs, and contains most of the classics in the area. Good quality granite that gets steeper as you go up. Most climbs are bolted, through there is a great trad route as well.
Getting There
Two ways to get there:
From the French side: Park in Barberine and head on the path towards the clearly visible rock formation... cross the bridge and follow the path... you will pass a farmhouse on your right, at which point the path jogs left... the lower slabs will be clearly visible on front of you and slightly to your right. Most climbs can be accessed by climbing the lower slabs... if they are wet, you can also head to the right and use fixed lines to bypass the lower slabs.
From the Swiss side: Park in the parking lot just before the border. Take the Route des vallorbes road and go left at the fork... this will go past some buildings and then heads towards the slabs as described above.
