Description
After the Gold Bar boulders were developed, many of Seattle's primary bouldering developers were on the hunt for new quality granodiorite blocs in the Skykomish Valley. Index yielded a few gems, but the true gold was to be found in the junglelike Miller River valleys. Unlike the logging road hike of Gold Bar, these boulders are sometimes difficult to reach. River crossings, bushwhacking, and seasonal talus fields can be barriers to access. The upside is you'll likely find solitude, and problems that are just as impressive in this old mining valley.
