Trailside Boulder

California > Central Coast > Santa Barbara > Santa Barbara… > Lower Cold Springs Ca…

Description

As the name suggests, this boulder is on the trail.

Getting There

Same cluster of boulders that the Milkweed Boulder is in:

A pleasant and easy approach. From the parking area, get on either the West or East Fork (it doesn't matter at this point which one you start on because they reconnect in a few minutes). Walk on the trail for about 5-7 minutes until you reach where the two trails rejoin at the beautiful spot where the stream crosses the trail. You will see the sign with arrows pointing towards "West Fork" or "East Fork". From here, cross the stream, and instead of continuing to follow the trail, go straight up the dried-up stream bed where you can see a small group of boulders. The Milkweed boulder is furthest back in the group of boulders, and you can see its pointy top sticking up from the trail.
