Description
Pinnacle Mountain, a low angle cone-shaped treeless summit rising out of the Arkansas woods, is comprised of broken blocks of Ouachita sandstone with some steeper locations with rock climbing opportunities.
Climbing areas on Pinnacle Mountain itself are located on the SE aspect of the mountain. The areas are broken into levels arranged from low to high on the East Summit Trail: IA, IB, II, III and IV.
Also climbing available nearby on West Pinnacle aka Rattlesnake Ridge.
Pinnacle Mountain is a popular state park located just a stone’s toss from Little Rock. The area is especially popular with hikers and affords great views of the surrounding area from the summit.
Please sign in at the visitor's center if you plan to do any technical climbing.
Due to loose rock and hikers not being as aware of climbers below, pay attention for potential rock fall. Climbers would be prudent to wear a helmet.
