This secluded area has a few lines that are 30 to 35 feet in height in the 4- to 4 range. The area gets afternoon sun and is well sheltered from the cold winds. There is no easy walk-around.
To access the climbs, start at the municipal boat launch at the Southern tip of Poisson Blanc. The climbs are about 600 meters from the boat launch. Walk out on the lake and head North, across the narrow bay. Hike up the obvious easy drainage gully and continue North towards the escarpment. The climbs will be easy to spot on the cliff.
Special care is needed when crossing the bay. Poisson Blanc is a reservoir and the level is lowered by 5 or 6 feet mid-winter. This results in some funky and delicate ice around the shoreline.
The parking lot at the boat launch is for local residents with permits - don't park there. The safe parking option is 800 meters up on the main road near the junction of Chemin du Poisson Blanc and Chemin de la Base de plein air de l'Outaouais. Take care not to block access to the snowmobile trail.
