Shortoff Mountain South: All routes between and including C.O and Paradigm Shift are closed.

Shortoff Mountain North: All climbing routes, cliff rim, and campsites within the red band marked on the map are closed to entry. No foot traffic or camping above or below the cliff in this section. Contact the USFS for more details: 828 652 2144.

NC Wall/Apricot Buttress/The Camel: On the NC Wall, all routes between and including Tightrope and Bumblebee Buttress are closed. Apricot Buttress and The Camel are closed.

Bynum Bluff: All routes are closed.

Description

There are two separate parts of this rock face. A picture is included with the routes of the wall that is higher up the hill. The lower wall is in the second picture, however I did not climb on that wall so I did not draw routes for it. The rock quality is good. It’s a really nice hidden wall. Since I do not know if these routes are already named, I will just call them Route 1, Route 2 etc. If you happen to know the names, please let me know

Getting There

On route 181, drive until you get to just past mile marker 22, you will see a bend in the road and a flat area next to it. You can park there. Hike up the hill about 100 feet. You’ll see the wall there.
