The west face is everything that the east face is not - slabby, good on cold days and uncrowded. Those who make the short hike to this side of the formation have a number of slabs and cracks of easy to moderate difficulty with The Gift of Slab (5.7), Absolutely Slabulous (5.9) and Carlos (5.9+) the best of the bunch.
Approach #1 - Hike southwest and then west from the road around the west side of the Pep Boys Crag, and then follow a worn trail southeast and scramble up to the base of the wall.
Approach #2 - Walk left past Coarse and Buggy and through a rocky notch between Dihedral Rock and Glory Dome; once through the notch head right to the base and scramble up to the west-facing wall.
The approach takes 10 minutes or so from the closest parking area near The Milepost.
