Bear Rocks

Maryland > Cunningham Fall… > Thurmont Watershed Area

Description

Bear Rock is located in the far back of the Thurmont watershed. It is basically located on the North side of Bobs Hill. The area contains a huge amout of small rock wall, pillars, and huge boulders. Walls are generally North Facing.  If you want isolation this is the place. Most climbers these days won't make the effort to climb here so enjoy the solitude.

Getting There

Bear Rocks is approximately 1.9 miles from Pryor Rd using the Thurmont fire road. Follow the fire road until it reaches a stream crossing. Follow the major fork of the stream for a short distance. Use a gps to bushwack the remainder of the way until a more established route is identified.
