With wildfire risks at an all time high, I wanted to add this notice so people will know. Please review the restrictions and report any suspicious activity and illegal campfires to the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency number 928-774-1414 ext. 0. Sounds like full closures may be implemented soon.

Description
It was a Thanksgiving Day and Red Rocks had just implemented the new reservation system. Packed trails and limited climbing in the Henderson area had us looking for more climbing on the east side of the valley. As mentioned in the main description, this area is littered with bouldering opportunities that have yet to be documented. With trad gear in tow we set out to document some of the boulders in the area. People have been climbing these rocks for years, so I in no way take full credit for these routes. I hope these additions encourage others to get out and identify other hidden gems in our area.
Getting There
Take highway 95 into Arizona and get off on the first exit on your right called Kingman Wash. Take a right at the end of the exit ramp and another immediate right. The parking lot and trail head is on your left right where the road is blocked. When taking the trail there are two ways to access this junction. The first option is to take the "main trail" on your left which exits the wash on a deteriorated asphalt road. It is difficult to spot and is often signaled by an arrow made of rocks in the main wash. The second option is to stay in the main wash which I prefer. Someone has spray painted on the rocks direction arrows. This route has several mini obstacles that must be down climbed with two larger drops about 8 ft tall. Someone has placed bolts if you wish to use a rope but anyone that climbs can easily downclimb the route. When these two options join, your are at the boulder area I have aptly named 'Boone Boulders' after my family.
