Description Suggest change

With its 4506m height, the Weisshorn is the fourth highest summit in Switzerland. It forms a distinct triangular shape, and each of its three prominent ridges has and established route. The East Ridge (Ostgrat) was the first route to be climbed and is now considered to be the "normal route" to the summit. The first ascent took place on 19 August 1861 by John Tyndall, Johann Joseph Benet and Ulrich Wenger. There are no easy routes to the summit, and the normal route is considerably more difficult than the normal routes on most other 4000m peaks.

Getting There Suggest change

Approach from either Randa (for the East and South ridges) or Zinal (for the North ridge).
