Mt. Ansel is a large area with potential for short bouldering and trad routes. The mountain is named after the photographer Ansel Adams who did the initial landscape photography and surveying for the Air Force Academy in April of 1955. Mt. Ansel can be accessed by hiking to the West from the Robert's Ridge area. You can also follow the ridgeline above the Down Under area to the North. The summit is located at approximately GPS coordinates 39.01077, -104.91290.
