Description
Cherry Creek Canyon is a serene and quiet canyon. The area stands ready to challenge anyone who dares. Unequivocal beauty can be found when exploring this area. Adventure climbing, hiking and some scattered boulders entertain those who visit the Mt. Naomi Wilderness Area. Cherry Peak is one of the fourth highest peak in the Bear River Range and the climbing and approaches here vary depending on your goals. Cherry Creek Canyon is one of three major approaches one can take to ascend the peak and its also the entrance for a number of scattered routes and boulders.
Getting There
Cherry Creek Canyon is located with in the Naomi Wilderness Area and can be accessed from the town of Richmond, UT along route 91 in northern Logan. Drive from north on US 89 to Richmond, Utah. Drive along the main street in Richmond and until you reach 500 North. This turns into Cherry Creek Road. Follow it til it ends at the trail head. Follow the trail all the way to the back of the canyon where it will start climbing to the ridge south of the peak.
