Description

Saucer Meadow has some fantastic climbing in an incredibly scenic location, if you're willing to make an effort to get out here. There's still tons of potential for FAs; in the 2 days I spent out here, we looked at maybe 20% of the boulders in the area.

Getting There

From Sacramento, take CA-16 to Plymouth and turn right onto CA-49 S. Get on CA-108 just past Jamestown until you reach the resort. The drive from Sacramento is approximately 3.5 hours. Park in Kennedy Meadows Resort & acquire an overnight parking pass. From the dock, hike approximately 6 miles, passing Relief Reservoir, until you reach a meadow w/ huge overhanging cliffs on your left. Welcome to Saucer Meadow! A good place to camp is located at 38.244136, -119.725065; there's a trail leading right down to it on the right of the trail.

Be prepared - the hike up is mostly uphill and feels pretty damn hard with enough supplies to last 2.5 days. Consider getting stock to bring your pads up, as I would NOT recommend hiking up to Saucer Meadow with pads and camping supplies.
