Description

The Alcove Island Boulder is a large conglomerate puddingstone boulder in the center of the Alcove Area. It is slabby around most of its sides, providing a comfortable seat for resting between climbs on the Main Alcove Wall and the Right Alcove Wall. However, on its back side are a few easy climbs that serve as good warm-ups or cool-downs.

Getting There

This boulder is up the hill from the main parking lot, nestled closely between the Main Alcove Wall and the Alcove Entrance Boulder.

When facing the Alcove Entrance Boulder, walk around left and back. When facing the Main Alcove Wall, the slabby face of the Alcove Island Boulder is directly behind you. This slabby face is on the directly opposite side of the boulder from the climbs.
