Lost and Found Crag

Description

Home to a couple dozen routes, both trad and sport. The gemstone of this crag is its namesake, Lost and Found (5.9), a bomber crack in a corner with a little bit of everything (hand crack, offwidth, squeeze chimney). Lots more climbs to be enjoyed. Reference the C Miller/C Owens guidebook.

Getting There

Take a less travelled trail near The Ingot towards the west and then turn towards the north with the trail. About a mile hike from Pinnacles West proper.

[Hide Comment] this is a very nice crag with an array of good routes at varying grades and styles. in particular, there are a bunch of good beginner wide cracks. a good challenge for the moderate crack climber is doing all 9 crack routes (5.7 to 5.9) in a day. sounds pretty mellow, but there is fair amount of wide climbing that is somewhat physical. [Hide Comment] Appropriately enough, we got lost on the way there and ended up with a much harder approach than the guidebook suggests. The described "abandoned track" loops farther south than you might expect - make sure you're on it before leaving the main area of Pinnacles West, or you're in for a lot of technical scrambling. However, there is lots of potential for route development off the main path, including an absolutely beautiful looking chimney at around 34.311314, -116.883930. Jul 12, 2023
