Description
Beautiful boulder right off the fire road. A few established problems exist as well as a few projects. Nice slab side provides a good warm up or easier climb for beginners, plenty of variations + traverses exist. The stand out climb is the J-Dyno (could also be done static depending on height and footwork)
Getting There
From Mountain Center take the 243 towards Idyllwild. Turn left on Toll Gate road and follow for approx 1.5 miles, through IAA campus until you hit the dirt (fire roads). You might find a few cars parked in this area primarily mountain bikers, once you have passed the maintenance building on your right, you'll see a fork- take the right fire road. Follow this for about 1/2 a mile, take the 1st left. Follow the road and continue to stay left at any fork (these roads will take you back up to Pine cove + some boulders along the way if your feeling adventurous 4WD recommended) after about another 1/2 mile you'll notice a few boulders on your left (couple fun/moderate problems exist here) The next road/fork go left and you'll see the Halo Boulder clear as day. You can also continue to take this road back to the entrance of the fire road. Look on Google earth its not very complicated. Plenty of boulders Ive established and plenty more to do. Have FUN!
