Description
Another, smaller iteration of Hemlock ledges, a few minutes to the west. The bouldering is mostly focused around the Pyramid Boulder, a large broken off piece at the right side of the ledge. Just as the pyramids are the focal point in a desert here also will you find hidden treasures deep within. With a little adventure you will find not only great climbs in the open but fun and unique ones hidden away.
Note - This area is right along a popular trail, very familiar to generations of locals for the moss and fern covered walls. Please be very judicious with what you clean and how you do it, and make sure to clean up your chalk well. For instance, please leave the slab wall to the right of the Pyramid with all the heavy ferns and moss alone. It is two feet from the trail and important ecologically and aesthetically and its destruction would be definitely noticed. Thks, MS
Getting There
At the south end of the pond, continue to the right past the main Hemlock Ledge and join the white trail. Following it a few minutes west then branch off right (straight ahead) onto the blue blazed one which takes you under another outcropping of Hemlock Ledge. The Pyramid Boulder is the right end of this little cliff and the other areas are scattered around it. Many of the areas in this region are easy to miss, but will become easily visible with a little searching and the descriptions found within.
