Description
Boulders under a deciduous forest. Nothing earth shattering here but it might be a welcome break from hiking. You can probably send these in your hiking boots, so most likely no need for a pad or climbing shoes.
Getting There
Take Cole Mill Road to Eno River State Park and pass the ranger's station. Continue on until the road ends at the Few's Ford Picnic Area. Park and take the trail down to the river. Cross the suspension bridge and continue straight. At the next spur, keep left to take the Cox Mountain trail clockwise around to the river (the slow way). Or continue on the gravel road and follow signs to take the Cox Mountain Trail (counter clockwise). On the high part of the trail by river (near the power lines) there are several large boulders down by the water.
