Description

On the other side of the highway from Coopers Rock Proper but still on Coopers Rock land, this area features interspersed (and some not so interspersed) climbing off of Old Rt. 73. This area is not gated in the winter.

Getting There

From getting off the highway, instead of turning towards Coopers Rock proper, turn the opposite direction. At the stop sign turn left. Follow the road until it dead ends (about 2.4 miles). (On the way to the dead end, about .6 miles down the road you will pass a body of water (Coopers Rock/Messinger Lake) on your right. Just beyond this there are two climbable boulders on the left, up the hill by the highway). Just before the dead end turn right. There will be a pull off as you are going up the hill around the bend that can fit a few cars. Continuing up the hill there is a large gravel lot. These are the parking areas for the bulk of the climbing at this location.
