Description
This crag is a steep and tough face of rock above a conspicuous planar slab angled downhill toward the road. Muscle Beach has nine routes, natural and manufactured, many of which were developed by Tony Yaniro in the early days of sport climbing and range from 5.10c to 5.13c. Two of the routes can be top-roped; the rest are bolted. For more details, refer to Dave Bingham's "Idaho Underground" guidebook available at local shops.
Getting There
This crag is directly above the one-car parking area next to a small rock outcrop on Trail Creek Rd. You'll know you're at the correct pull-off and rock outcropping if the small roadside rock, on the downhill side of the road, has bolts and hangers on top. From here, hike directly up the loose, rocky slope for a minute or so. The crag is right above the road and easy to access. If there's no parking right here, drive a few hundred feet back down the road to the Angry Youth Crag parking where the road passes through a small stand of trees.
