Description
Nice moderate single-pitch routes a short drive from Kimberley BC. There is a guidebook out for the area as of Spring 2021. Check local shops and climbing gyms for availability.
Tora Bora (as well as her sister crag, Jimmy Cliff) is a gateway crags to the potential of the South Purcells. Start here and then travel westward, crossing the river in the heat of summer to Riverside Crag. Next pass the historic and yet still untapped cliffs of Bootleg mountain (St Mary's, Low and High Side, Helios, and the Buttresses soaring above) and newer, scrappy multi-pitch routes above St Mary's Lake. Then on into the heart of the Southern Purcell Range where diamonds lay sleeping (cracks above Hourglass Lakes, granite walls arising south of Price Lake, Totem Peak; ultimately the Leaning Towers; but lo! A range of beauty up the West Fork, and what more??)
