Description
The greater Mesa Verde region of southwest Colorado is a beautiful part of the Four Corners. While many people pass through en route to Mesa Verde National Park or destination areas like Durango and Moab, the Montezuma Valley and its towns of Cortez, Mancos, and Dolores have a lot to offer folks who want to stop and explore.
In addition to visiting the numerous natural and cultural sites throughout the region (e.g., Canyon of the Ancients or Ute Mountain Tribal Park), the mountain biking mecca of Phil's World is arguably the biggest outdoor draw in the area. A number of scattered climbs can be found throughout the region though, and while not world class crags, these areas are great for locals looking for a quick session (or visitors looking to spice things up).
