Devil's Canyon

Colorado > Grand Junction… > McInnis Canyons

Description

Devil's Canyon Is the most frequently visited canyon in the McInnis Conservation. It has a few routes that were developed and documented in Desert Rock III. The documented routes are from the early '80s, and since then, only a handful of new routes have been added. The reason can only be speculated. The area is a visual resource, so sport routes would likely not be tolerated. Rock quality, as in The Monument, varies and may not be of interest to all climbers. Some more lines have been added over the last 5 years. Most of these are offwidth and chimneys. The approaches are somewhat committing. For Example,  The Disciples include a 8 mile hike out and back.

Getting There

Just go to Devils Canyon Trail Head in Fruita.  It is the first parking lot on the left after Snooks Bottom
