Description

The Dome is one of those obscure lower region crags that was popular for a brief time in its day, but now sees only a few visits each year from dedicated backwoods traddies. The main wall is actually quite impressive due to its height and contains a couple multi-pitch route. Most people think the routes at The Dome are a little sandbagged, so don't underestimate the grades.

Getting There

Drive 2 miles past the Nada Tunnel (1 mile past Military Wall) north on KY 77 then turn left after crossing the steel bridge. Drive 0.7 miles down the gravel road to a gate pull-off on the right just past a small bridge. Hike past the gate and a muddy section to reach a grassy field. Follow the trail through the field for 0.5 miles until you reach the end of the field. At this point, bushwhack up the hill for about 200 yards. The impressive west-facing main wall should become visible as you head up the hill.
