Description Suggest change

The majority of the routes here are on Pottsville Sandstone and are underneath a roof, so the handholds usually are dry even after a rain. The Lynn Overlook area is a part of the Little River Canyon National Preserve, and the overlook itself is home to protected species of plants that only live in sandstone meadow environments. Stay on trails so that you do not step on plants and pick up after yourself. A power line crosses directly over the canyon where the parking area for the overlook is at, and a series of unmarked trails head to the south of the parking area. The parking lot and short road at Lynn Overlook are ordinarily full of potholes and sharp rocks, so drive carefully when accessing this area.

Getting There Suggest change

Drive 3 miles down 176 after turning off of route 35 until you come to Lynn Overlook, which is on the left side of the road. A brown National Park sign is clearly visible from the roadway that says Lynn Overlook. If the parking lot at Lynn Overlook is full (summer season), then more parking is available further down 176 about 300 yards at the Beaver Pond Trail Head. Once you enter Lynn Overlook parking lot and drive to the roundabout at the end of the gravel road, take the trails from the roundabout through the woods till you come to a creek. This creek during the summer will most likely be dry, and a climber can easily make their way down the creek bed. Once you get down the first tier of the creek bed, stay to the left and hug the cliff line until you come upon the first set of routes. The routes extend periodically for the next quarter-mile north back up the canyon.
