Description
The Júcar Gorge climbing area is located directly north of Cuenca, right outside of town. Crags can be found on either wide of the Júcar River, winding around with the river. This means that some crags will be better than others depending on the time of year and time of day to get the shade/sun you desire. Some areas don't have much loose rock, while others have quite a bit.
The majority of climbs are vertical or overhanging, but there are some lower grades as well (typically found on boulders near the rest of the climbs). The majority of holds are made up of crimpy edges, cracks, and pockets.

Getting There
The furthest crag from Cuenca is less than an hour walking with a nice sidewalk along the road. There are lanes for pedestrians and bikers along the sidewalk. There are also a couple of bridges in the area to cross to the other side of the Júcar River. Crags have relatively straightforward approaches.
