Çiirali Left

International > Asia > Turkey > Olympos > Çiirali

Description

Çiirali Left is the left side of this west-facing wall of stunningly attractive limestone is located just outside of town. The lower half of the wall is characterized by moderate slab climbing. The upper half consists of overhanging lines on tufas and pockets. This cliff looks a little like an open book that has been flipped on edge and offers two extremely different stories yet the pages are so close together. This wall receives afternoon sun and generally does not have large crowds jockeying for position. The location is quite peaceful and serene.

Getting There

To access the wall walk a couple hundred meters up Valley on the main road after crossing the bridge near the village market and ATMs. Walk across a strip of forest (past Kabiri) and then cross the stream directly across from the cliff face.

Currently (Feb 2023) that strip of forest is fenced off. You may have to walk from the south side of the bridge, and cross the stream where you can.
