Description

Located along Hwy 1 starting about 10km past the town of Golden and going along the highway up until the Park Bridge, Kicking Horse Canyon is host to a number of classic roadside ice climbs.

Getting There

Drive East from Golden along Highway 1 for about 10km and either park on the south side of the highway at the entrance to a gated road that heads down into the canyon, if this isn't possible then park at a plowed pullout a couple hundred meters West of that, or as the 3rd and longest option, continue for another ~3km to the Kicking Horse Rest Area and park there. Regardless of where you park you will have to walk along the highway for some distance to access your chosen climb.
