Description
The North Country Trail Spur area has great access right off the trail. It has a few roped climbs but the main attraction of the area is the long vertical to overhaging bouldering cut. As of this writing there have been no climbs done on the cut but as the informations get out it shold be on any serious boulder's radar. Being that it can be accesed from the Harlow Lake Pathway it could be part of an amazing boulder circuit!!!
Getting There
Aproaching from the Hogsback Trailhead: Climb almost to the summit of the mountian. Just before the polished slab look right for a trail down the steep north face of the mountian. This is the North Country Trail where it meets too head north. (The NCT does enter the trail on the left lower on the trail but heads south east away from climbing). Take the trail down the steep section till it levels off in a wooded sadle. The boulder cut will be facing uphill on your right. Hiking just past the cut and down a steep channel the "North Country Corner" will be off the trail on the right.
Aproaching from the Harlow Lake Pathway: Folow the first leftmost trail through the "pass" below the Moon area. This trail is well used and will meet the NCT just after the "pass". Follow the trail to the old railroad grade, cross and follow the trail to an intersection at an old sign. Hang a left and follow the muddy trail uphill till the obvious "North Country Corner" is on you left. The boulder cut is on the backside of this same formation.
