We finally move out from the area around the dam and are now in a totally different valley a few km south and east. The Refugi (refugio) Llong and the Estany Llong are popular hiking destinations, quite beautify and well worth the visit. (see below in "Getting There")

The guidebook lists 11 crags/sub-areas with 31 routes all Trad (or Trad with occasional bolts) and all SOUTH of the Refugio. Of the 11 crags the Agulles de Dellui lists the most routes (11, more than 2x the next highest number) and is about a 5km hike from the Refugio.  We did not visit that area, but rather we hiked along the trails that led east along the lake and then north-ish. (See sub-area 10 "Crags East & North of Estany Llong")

To get to the Estany Llong and refugio d Estany Llong you either have to walk 17+/-km up the closed road (or adjacent trail)  that starts on the right about half way between Boi and Caldes de Boi.  Or you can take a taxi and then walk 5 km.

To get the taxi (which is really like a shuttle van, in that you usually have to wait until the van is full before it leaves) go into the town of Boi and look for signs to a large dirt parking lot on the right shortly after you reach town.  Park and walk up to a small square on the right (right of the "main drag road"), the taxi office is on the left. (See Google Earth photo of Boi )  Buy your ticket and wait for the van to fill up. Take note of the times the van will leave for the return from inside the park.

  From where the taxi drops you off, Refigio and Estany Llong is about 5 km on a wide, easy path.
