Description

AKA the "Original Crag' per "rock climbing in central Thailand" guidebook.

Currently, around 32 routes ranging from 5.7 to 5.13. Majority of the higher quality lines are between 5.10 to 5.11+

Getting There

From Bangkok, it's best to rent a car or catch a ride with local.

Public transport is an option but could be tricky to arrange. It's possible to take a bus/van from Bangkok toward Hua Hin or Cha'am (both another hour further south from Khao Yoi)

Safety Concerns

Hardware - Majority of the crag has been equipped with Titanium glue-in bolts although several expansion and stainless steel bolts remain. Please use caution.

Street dogs - The soi (alley) leading up to this crag is occupied by hoard of street dogs. They can be intimidating and friendly, all at the same time.

Nesting bees/wasps - Very prevalent during monsoon season. Be prepared to back off some of the routes if you encounter a hive(s).
