Description
A broad area around Foster Gulch Rd featuring limestone, sandstone, and a granite/schist mixture. Primarily hosts bouldering, however there is potential for routes in the Battle Creek drainage. Area is know for jeeping and mountain biking but mostly local kids heading for the popular cliff jumping spot, Hippie Hole.
Getting There
Located SW of Rapid City by about 25 min, and just E of Mt. Rushmore/Keystone. Many ways to enter the area, the standard way is to turn South from Rockerville on S Rockerville Rd. Follow for 3.2 miles then, atop the hill, turn left onto Foster Gulch Rd. If you drive past the huge Children's Home you've gone to far. Follow series of rough dirt roads to the area you're seeking.
