Description
An exposed ridge line of fine limestone cliffs above Monaco.
With over 600 routes spread amongst around a dozen sectors, La Turbie has something for everyone.
Views are stupendous. Perched above the Med with views west to Nice and beyond on a nice day.
Exposed south facing aspect makes this location a good option in colder weather. Some wind ensures a fast dry to wet rock. Season here would be bumper spring and fall, and, possible winter as well. Some shade might make summer doable, but, will be usually very hot in the sun.

Getting There
Easy freeway access from the A8 between Nice and the Italian border. Only 20 or so minutes from Nice. An hour from Finale Ligure.
From La Turbie, access and great views provided from Tête de Chien. From town, head down in the direction of Monaco and after a 250m, a signed sharp left turn leads to Tête de Chien. The Big Ben, Upper Tier and Grand Face are all available in a short distance down from the parking. Take in the whopper view of Monaco below. Much more parking available at this upper parking area.
For routes on the lower crags, like Roche à Roche, La Loubière and Dalle a L'oiseau, there’s a small parking lot at the hairpin corner on the road down to Monaco (la route de la Turbie) below the crags. A nice, well maintained trail leads up to the climbing.
Goes without saying to not leave anything of value in the car. The area is infamous for break ins. Glove box open, windows down (weather permitting), doors unlocked and nothing in the trunk. Prudent.
