Group of 8 close-together boulders on a steep hillside just inside Rothrock State Forest (15 minute drive from State College).

Park on W Chestnut Street, Pine Grove Mills.

Approach (5 mins): Halfway down Chestnut Street there is a white blazed but low-key trail that leads directly, with almost no elevation gain, to the boulders. Follow the trail without veering right, continuing past the water tower and you will see the boulders up and to the right, on the hill side.

Alternatively (10 mins): Continue past the yellow gate until you reach a junction with a ramp and a downed tree on your left (pictured). Turn left, and continue steeply (over the log) upward until that trail ends, and you arrive on a larger path. Turn left here, and continue walking until a rightward bend in the trail, which is past the water tank, with a steep rocky outcropping on your right. Look downhill and to the right of the blue tank, and you will be able to see the tops of a few boulders. In total, this approach is around 10 minutes.
