Frameshift Boulder

Maryland > Patapsco Valley SP > Alberton > Alberton Boulders

Description

Frameshift is on the right, moderate problems on the left.

Getting There

The first boulder Frameshift is 100m past the Park entrance sign and the gate, it is hidden by a bit of vegetation and is facing the direction you're walking in so it can be easy to pass even though its end is practically touching the trail. Once you see the "no hunting" sign you are there. On the right.

[Hide Comment] Climbed "Center Face" and "Rail". Solid climbs with decent holds that take some searching around for. Finding where your feet go can be a little tricky, but this was my first outdoor climb so that's certainly a factor. The landing zone for "Stumped" is dangerous with the pointed tree stump waiting to impale you with a miscalculated fall. You definitely need to be fairly confident as a fall could cause a serious injury. "Arete" has a decent landing zone but the stump to the left is uncomfortably close for me; a more experienced climber would have no issue though.

The rock itself is about 15-20 feet high. You'll need a spotter to move the pad as you climb Apr 19, 2020
