Description
This short, granite dome can be found at the western edge of Whale Cove Lake in Terence Bay. With walls on three sides, the lakeside face features prominent vertical cracks while the others have scattered low & high ball boulder problems.
-Trad climbs enter the shade around noon, making summer climbing cool.
-More secluded than Crow's Nest making windy days comfortable (and bug season wretched!)
-Easy access trail to the top of cliff (right of 'El Tostador') makes retrieving a gear anchor or setting up a top rope a simple process.
-Great view of Whale Cove Lake and surrounding crags.
-Natural fridge at the base of 'La Nevera' keeps 'cold ones' cold.
-No crowds :)

Getting There
Park as for Crow's Nest trail (30 min. from Halifax). Hike as for Crow's Nest. After the second water crossing (at Whale Cove Lake, not the stream at Quarry Lake/Grover Cove) continue 50m down the trail (staying left of the steep, short cliff-top access trail on the right) to a granite dome on the right hand side . Can't miss it. The first crack you encounter is 'El Tostador'. ~45 min. hike from Crow's Nest Trail head.
