Description

Great after-work crag with sunny mornings for colder days and shady afternoons on hotter days.

Getting There

At the moment you can still access The Canoe Trail from the powerline access road, but this could change once construction of the new development at the end of Evergreen starts and depending on the behaviour of our climbing community. Please do not enter the new housing development site - we have negotiated alternate accesses with the developer who has donatd 120 acres of land to the provincial park. Respect the new directions below or we may lose access.

Turn east from South Main Street and wind your way up Pineview Road until you are forced to turn right onto Evergreen Drive (about 1.5 km). Follow this for about 500 m until it ends in a cul-de-sac. Please be considerate and don't block driveways when you park, change into your shorts in public, or use neighbourhood lawns as picnic or bike repair sites. (Yes, these thoughtless acts all occurred on the Easter long weekend!)

Go through the yellow gate on the east side of the cul-de-sac and almost immediately turn right onto the powerline access road at a second yellow gate. Follow this for 20 metres and then turn left onto a well worn trail that leads down to the valley floor at the south end of a small pond and the start of The Canoe Trail.

If you are allergic to Poison Ivy be vigilant; there are lush growths of it along this trail.

[Hide Comment] Things must have changed, because the above directions no longer make sense. To get to Canoe Trail Crags, park at Skaha North Parking, then look for a sandy patch behind the boulders on the south side (see photo). The trail drops down at the end of the patch. From there it's just a few minutes to the right hand side of Canoe Trail Crags, marked by an actual canoe.
