Description

Donnell Vista is a well-marked parking/scenic overlook area with one short but nice climbing cliff. The parking area and the climbing cliff are both easily visible from US 108. The 25-foot high crag is 30 feet from the parking lot. These climbs are sometimes bouldered and sometimes TRed (build TR anchors with gear in the several cracks on top of the formation). Easy access, easy top ropes and a warm western exposure make this little crag a nice place to take beginners.

Getting There

Almost from your car bumper in the Donnell Vista Parking Lot from a turnoff on US 108. N38 20.471, W119 55.491. Traveling east the well-marked entrance to Donnell Vista is 2.6 miles beyond Road 5N06 (and also 1.7 miles past Eagle Meadow Road). An easy walk around to the right (south) leads to the top.
