Getting There
From the old (now not used) information center* that is located on a side road to the right just inside the "gate" which blocks the main park road for most of the year. From here the guidebook shows (on a very small-scale map) a path that leads directly up to about the mid-point of the cliff. I would assume this is a climber's path, so it may be less-than-obvious. Book says 2 hrs.
Larger scale hiking maps show an actual trail that leads off from the old info. center to the northwest and it would appear from the map(s) that one could leave this path at 1 to 1.5 kn and "bushwhack" up-slope about 500m (1600 vertical feet) to the cliff.
* Do not confuse with the old interpretation center, which is about 1.2 km below the bus drop-off/[parking.
