Description

Cliff Mountain Bouldering is great. There is a playground of excellent small blocks, plenty of medium sized boulders, and a few highball thrillers to get on. Mostly easy-to-moderate grades with a few harder lines to work. Most landings are flat, and the approach is nearly nonexistent for most.

Brian Jones cleaned and climbed the lions share of problems that you'll find at Cliff Mountain, as well as many boulder problems and routes in surrounding areas of the HKL. Spring and summer on the HKL can bring lots of rain, so bring a brush as many lines can become dirty even after a single season.

Brian has climbed well over 100 problems in this field, and I will not be listing them all. If you find something not listed on here, odds are great that its been climbed at some point since the 90s until now. Have fun, explore and take some pictures too!

Getting There

Take SR 655 (Cliff Mountain RD) off of HWY 23.
Follow 655 until the split in the gravel road and follow the sign left for Jasper Cliffs.
Jasper will take you to the pull off for the boulders (roadside, you'll see them)
