Description
Hole in the Wall is comprised of two walls with Southern facing aspect and two walls with a Northern aspect. Some of south facing walls are shaded by foliage in the summer allowing year round climbing. The northern facing routes have great shade and will be good except for cold days. Most of the routes will stay dry in light rain, though some will be good in a downpour.
Getting There
The easiest approach is via an old logging road that is just past the rock wall as you head downhill on the Lode road. You can either park at the top and walk down, or park at the bottom and walk up. Take the logging road down to the bottom of the holler and follow the trail. Once you cross the stream, you will have an option to cut left (which will take you to the Southern aspect walls) or cut right (which will take you to the northern aspect walls. Alternatively, there is a path from the back of the Lode parking lot that you can walk in. The approach is about 10 minutes either way you go.
