Description Suggest change

Be prepared for Alaska weather at Portage. Rock quality is mostly good. These problems are short, but fun - and have relatively safe landings.

Getting There Suggest change

From Anchorage, drive south on the Seward Highway and turn onto Portage Spur Road. Drive 5 miles and turn onto Byron Glacier Road, the trail head has a sizable parking lot. Walk 25 minutes on the trail until it opens up from forest to talus fields on your right and the river on your left. Walk a little further, until you see three larger boulders in close proximity on your right, just a little ways off the trail. Those are the Trolls - William, Bert, and Tom. Good thing they got stuck in the sun!
