Description Suggest change

This sub-area contains the main boulder field for Lost Ledge. There are not usually many people here; however, it is a relatively new area so this may change in the future. The bugs can be bad, especially in the evenings during the summer. The area doesn't get much sun or wind, as it is nestled in trees. The rock here is sandstone and can be very fragile, especially after it rains. Be sure to wait at least 24-48hrs before coming and climbing here after a rain shower to avoid any damage to the rock.

Getting There Suggest change

This sub-area is found by taking a sharp right downslope at the fork in the climber access trail just after the log bridge (~3 minutes from the junction with Rock Trail, and shortly after passing the pandemic boulder area). If you went over the log bridge and you find more boulders, YOU MISSED THE TRAIL TURNOFF. Head down the hillside via stone steps for another minute. After heading down the hillside, the trail flattens out and in roughly 30 seconds of walking opens up into the beginning of this sub-area. You'll know you're there when a big, flat opening appears, and a boulder with a big, sloping, aesthetic arete is on your left (The Conjuring V9). The climber access trail continues to through this area and many boulders can be found off the sides of it, and up on the hillside. DO NOT access this area by hiking down the hill past Wrinkle In Time, this is a disused trail that the State Park closed due to erosion concerns.
