Cleve Creek Crag

Nevada > Eastern Nevada

Description

Small collection of white rocks to the south of Cleve Creek Campground. Lots of potential for bolting if you have the ability. All listed climbs as of 8/15/19 are set with trad gear for top rope anchors. Be ready for some sharp rock!

Getting There

Take 50 east out of Ely, look for the turn off to 893 approx 2 miles past majors place on the left. Follow that road for 12 miles to Cleve Creek Rd follow signs to Cleve Creek Campground. When you reach the campground follow the left fork towards sites 1, 2, &3 and take the small dirt road across from the second exit to site #1. Go through the BLM gate (watch for the barbed wire) and follow it to the left until you reach the crag on your right. Note: easy walk approach from campground, 4wd with sizable clearance needed for drive up.

[Hide Comment] Is there much to fish? I can't imagine more than little Lahotan trout. I just spent a week on a pack trip on the East side of the Snake Range and the creeks are true Nevada style (real small). I've hunted the east side of the Schell's and nothing cried out to be climbed, but there is broken rock here and there. Aug 25, 2020

[Hide Comment] Any potential for bouldering here? The 2 current trad routes appear to be possible as just boulder problems. Hard to tell the scale from just the photos though. Jan 23, 2024
