Rum Runner's Cove

Michigan > Upper Peninsula > Marquette (and… > 550 Bouldering > Wetmore Landing

Description

Bouldering along the lake shore south of Rum Runner's Cove. This area has a longer approach and some of the climbs may be difficult to find at first, but the additional effort is quickly rewarded with excellent lines, solitude, and picturesque scenery.

Getting There

From the Wetmore Landing parking lot, hike towards the lake. Before reaching the beach, take a right and follow the blue blazes to Rum Runner's Cove.

[Hide Comment] After a lot of landing work, I'm happy to announce that the Backside of the Burbot Bloc is now climbable. Big thanks to everyone who came out and helped move rocks!! Jun 30, 2020

[Hide Comment] Looking to head up here from MN at the last week of June. If I stay by the lake, will the bugs be tolerable? Thanks in advance for any information! May 30, 2022

[Hide Comment] Hey Aaron, It should be tolerable. The black flies/mosquitos are not as prevalent right on the shore—this is especially true if you have an onshore wind. May 30, 2022
